I got the last two thermo problems and feel better... once I'm in a good mood, I can never understand why it was so hard to just cheep up in the first place. Now that just doesn't make sense. :) |

thermodynamics scares the shit out of me and thus i hate it. I've realized that it's not really that it's boring... it's that I just don't get it. None of it makes sense. I'm not even sure what I don't understand, I just can't tell one thing from another in this subject. And of course, as a result it is also boring, because even when I get an answer to a problem after first staring at it for forever and then somehow getting through it, I still don't get what it means. It makes me feel retarded.
I have until wednesday to figure it out for the first test... I hope I can manage to get at least a C- in this class. Never before have I hoped for the ability to get such a low grade before, but I'm really not sure I could do better no matter how hard I tried. It sucks, because I know it shouldn't even be hard at all. |

| I'm sad about my bicycle :( |
[Sep. 24th, 2006|06:23 am] |
So my bicycle is missing... it's a long and sad story.
On Wednesday I was over at my friend Andrew's house-warming party, and I had ridden my bike there, and left if on the front porch, since there were lots of people hanging out there and it was safe. Towards the end of the night, a fellow named Jason was asking me if I wanted a ride home. I told him, no, since he was somewhat (ok, REALLY REALLY) drunk. So he said that he could put my bike in the car, and give me a ride, that it wouldn't be any problem. But I kept insisting that I would ride my bike home as soon as I got my shoes which were locked in Andrew's house at the time (he had gone to bed). Jason decided to demonstate that he could put my bike in his trunk, not close the trunk, and drive off... and in a few minutes I went inside Andrew's neighbor's Eli's house... and we didn't see Jason again until just last night.
Last night, Jason didn't show up to work at Elmo's. And talking to everyone, I realized that the last time anyone had seen Jason was when I saw him driving off drunk with his trunk open with a bycicle in it on Wednesday. Jason wasn't answering his phone all night either. So, we all decided that he was dead/in prison for drunk driving. And I decided to make it my mission to find out what happened.
After work, I tracked down Andrew and Eli, who knew where Jason lived, and we all headed to his house. When we arrived there, his lights were on, and the back dooor was open. All confused, cautiously came up to his door, and knocked, and then timidly walked in and started calling for Jason. After a minute or so Jason shows up -- looking alive and not at all in jail :)
When questioned about why he didn't come to work, we got the answer that "sometimes...people just don't show up for work." He seemed to not want to show up the next day either, but I convinced him that he should, since I didn't want to cover his shift, and I was the only person Mark, the managed, could find to do it. When asked why he didn't want to come to his shift the next day, Jason replied that he "might be in chicago... or brooklyn...tomorrow"...
So once we knew that he was ok... err.. well, somewhat strange and confusing, but safe, anyway, I asked about my bycicle. Apparently Jason had decided to return my bycicle back to Andrew's porch that night... and it's sad, because the next morning I know it wasn't there. And I really miss it. It was an awesome bike, and I wish I had taken better care of it :( |

Going to N. Ireland tomorrow morning!!! I will miss everyone over here... but not enough not to go :D I've been really excited and start bouncing up and down every time I remember about it... and almost knock over people's wobbly tables. It sucks that I won't be able to listen to muse all day while over there :/ Really, I'm not obsessed at all O:) Also, Clerks 2 is quite funny. |

So Evan and I have been trying to go to Symposium Cafe (near the ballpark, it's a cool place) for some desert for some time now. Except I think we're cursed with always finding it closed. The first time, we just came half an hour after their closing hours. The second time we came on a Sunday, even though one set of hours said they were open Sundays (but then we found some hand written-sign about how they aren't). Oh, and we got yelled at by a security guard for being there that time, too. And then last night, we finally came during their working hours... but they had decided that they'd close early that day because apparently it had been dead. I want some tasty cake... apparently that's just too much to ask for. |

| [ | I'm feeling... |
| | excited | ] | I really like my classes this semester, and the schedule isn't too bad, though I have classes through the morning up to late afternoon some days. I feel ready to actually be responsible and do as well as I can this semester, though. It won't be like last year when I didn't ever go to class. It helps knowing that if I don't raise my gpa by half a point I won't be able to do any of the interesting internships or go to study abroad to Glasgow, which I want to do probably senior year. But my classes all seem do-able this semester, so hopefully I'll be able to make mostly As this semester. |

| about closed-book quantum tests |
[Oct. 15th, 2005|12:44 pm] |
Dimitry's description of my quantum test on Friday: "That test was bad! So bad, we spent an hour in the SPS room discussing career options besides Physics. That's pretty bad."
3/4 time into the test: Teacher: You should all be on the 4th problem by now. Class: *laughs loudly* |

| I'm the best student |
[Sep. 29th, 2005|11:05 am] |
So it's 7:50 and I'm just leaving my house to go to school. It takes about half an hour to get to class from home and I have a test at 8 o'clock. So I walk in the room 20 minutes late. And there's no more seats. The teacher has to find me a chair and puts it at the front of the room. So I get the test and get out the pen I stole from Evan this morning because I realized I was going to school without a writing utensil. Halfway through my name the pen decides it's run out of ink -_- So on top of everything I have to ask my teacher for the pen he was using for grading. I don't think it helps that I have bright pink hair. And the teacher surely must have noticed that I've only ever been to class like 3 times anyway. *sigh* But the test was extremely easy and I got done with it before the class period was even over, so I think that counts as a happy ending. Except since I was hurrying that test also looks all sloppy :/ but oh well...
and happy birthday to ildar :) |
